Featuring a turret-like structure at its apex, enclosing a building core that allows natural light into the public corridor space, this whimsical project was among a group designed to address a growing need for affordable rental housing. A unique assemblage of materials breaks up the mass of the 9-story street walls. A landscaped courtyard and community room at street level are among features of the 86-unit building. Developers financed project with private equity and the NYC HPD 421-A Certificate Program.
